Apartment Therapy Tours Twin Peaks

It must be Twin Peaks month:-)

Good Life Magazine and now Apartment Therapy

A house tour by Adrienne Breaux. Fantastic article and she took a bunch of pictures, there’s a pretty comprehensive slideshow.

Wow, it’s SO great to see a good picture of that table. MJ can design furniture like nobody’s business. I keep wishing we had the time to start that line of furniture that’s waiting in the side lines:-). All in due time, I guess!

AT is a great site and it’s just wonderful to see the house posted there but it’s even more wonderful to see Kim and Paul enjoy and appreciate the house. We worked so hard on those houses, all of us, for over two years. We fended so much criticism, I have pages of emails of neighbors either loving them or hating them, there sure was no middle place, until… they came inside, most people fell in love with the places during the open houses, attracted by the sustainability, the light, the warmth of the materials and color, and our own love, I guess, it must’ve come through somehow… So, when Kim and Paul seem so happy there, it actually means something to us, I’m not just saying  this, we really worked so much in these homes that they are literally a part of us. Kim and Paul’s was the first in Bouldin, too… buf, I’m getting teary eyed… bleagh.

Pilates Studio

Vodpod videos no longer available.

If the picasa slideshow is not working use this:

Check the Pilates studio out! It’s open for business. Ann Arnoult is an excellent Pilates instructor and a former dancer at Ballet Austin. This project was built by Living Art, Austin. John and Mike’s building outfit.

Update April 22, 2008

Foda Studio created the three illustrations for the project, I think they are our good luck charm:

We are proud to announce that this project has won the 2008 AIA Austin top Design Honor Award! This makes us the winners of the top local design award for two consecutive years! Stand by for celebration party:-)

First pics of our WOOFA (A doghouse and/or a sofa)

Some of the first pictures I took before I run out of battery and changed to film camera. The light was really good at sunset so I shot a million rolls… I’ll be updating again. We’re exhausted but happy. Woof, woof, woofa!!!!

Oh and WOOFA won “Most Original Doghouse Concept!” yey

Just like we like it, we’lll take that one, over any other, any day;-)

Dogs Hate Dog Houses; Dogs Love Sofas

I don’t even know where to begin. We’re presenting stuff like mad. Remodels, houses on the lake, houses on cliffs, houses in town, houses in the country, more remodels… and a dog house.
I’ll get around to posting about it all but let’s begin with that last one, it’s for Barkitecture Austin.

Our dog house/sofa is called WOOFA.

It’s a dog house that becomes an outdoor sofa (well, two really.) Like they say, a picture (or three) is worth a thousand words.
The glorious text comes from this blog that indispensable Jett of FODA Studio found.

All for charity… for the hounds. Design Within Reach is putting it together. We love the hounds, we love DWR. But we love John and Mike most of all because they are probably at the warehouse, right now, up to their eyebrows in sawdust, and it’s late, and it looks so incredible… get this, there was a little dog drawn in the wood, a wood knowt that looked like a dog, what are the odds???
