We’re working on a series of prototypes inspired by the warmth and craft of Scandinavian furniture. This is the newest one fully realized.
The skylight (w/insulated low E glass) at the Larkey remodel/addition is here! The light is wonderful, the trees can be seen swaying and the clouds rolling.
The existing, rusted through, fireplace has been replaced with a masonry one and the stone re-laid as close to the original funkiness as possible.
Next, some finish out action…Vodpod videos no longer available.
Went by the larkey job today, it was deserted because of the rain. With almost all the sliding doors in, you can really start telling what the space is going to feel like. My favorite has to be the new master bedroom, with the views to the courtyard and the clerestory window streching beyond where the glass will stop all the way down to the carport! Your eye just travels forever on that left side, and below that… all that storage!!!
I really also saw the jog around the tree, today, with the flashing being in and all, it’s a skinny carport but a very considerate one:-)

Steel going up at the Larkey residence. One beam has been cut to go around a beautiful little Live oak. This allows us to save the tree and have some fun with the movement of the car port roof.
some of the steel has been erected at the Larkey site.
The Larkey foundation has poured. Check that sunken tub, level with the floor and adjacent courtyard. We’re rocking now!
An A.D. Stenger designed house. We are adding an elegant, low key addition that will not overpower the original low slung lines.
